Henry Butler FCIOB

Henry has spent the last 44 years in the construction industry, progressing from a trainee in construction management through the period of site based manager, and in the last 25 years at director level in various construction companies. 

He was appointed Construction Director at Willmott Dixon Ltd in 1988 and in 1993 formed the Hampshire based company Wilding Butler Construction Ltd which is a successful regional based general contractor.

Henry joined the then IOB in 1969 and has professed through membership to CIOB Fellow class. He first served the institute as a member of the Southampton Centre in 1969 and has held local, regional and national positions ever since 1969 through to his current appointment in the 2008 election to the newly formed Board of Trustees. 

He has and continues to hold the view that working as a voluntary member in CIOB activities provides the best method of keeping in touch with this world wide industry.

In his private life Henry is married with 3 children and 6 grandchildren who take up most of his private time along with his other voluntary pastime of scouting, with which he still continues to assist in his local area.
