Stuart Henderson PPCIOB

Stuart has a wealth of experience in development, construction and property, in both public and private sectors.

He is the Executive Director Neighbourhoods with the AmicusHorizon Group Limited - Registered Social Landlords with 28,000 homes under management in London, Kent, and Sussex. His portfolio includes new home Development, Shared Ownership, Procurement and Assets, Regeneration and Facilities.     

He was CIOB President in 2002 and Chairman of the Construction Industry Council 2004 to 2006. Stuart was a member of the CIOB Examinations Board for many years and then Chair of the Education and Membership Board.

He began work with John Laing as a non-technical graduate MA Trinity College, Dublin later becoming a general foreman at the St Thomas' Hospital. He became a Member by examination as a result of the Laing-sponsored course at the former Regent Street Polytechnic.

Stuart was a member of the HM Treasury's Private Finance Panel Executive promoting and facilitating progress on a wide range of PFI Projects. He led the early stages of the first VA school PFI project at Cardinal Heenan, Leeds , and played a lead role in the procurement of the £300M National Physical Laboratory for the DTI.

He has had a long interest in construction and development education, having served as an external examiner and visiting lecturer, and was on the course committees, which established degrees including residential development at two universities.
