Concessionary Rates
The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) offers a concessionary rate of annual subscription for eligible members
Members eligible for the concessionary rate are:
1 All current members who have been in membership for longer than one year, who are suffering from financial hardship due to reasons such as unemployment, redundancy, maternity leave and long term sick leave.
2 Members who are under 60 but have taken early retirement and your total earned income from Construction work does not exceed *£15,000* pa excluding pensions.
3 Members in Associate or Incorporate class of membership currently in full time education to enhance their member class can apply for the concessionary rate.
4 Students who have upgraded to Associate or Incorporate in the year of graduation but are not yet in employment.
5 Self-employed members whose Construction Related earned income does not exceed *£15,000* in their previous tax year.
In order that your application can be considered please complete the enclosed form and return it back with the relevant supporting information as detailed on the form.
The completed application form should reach the Chartered Institute of Building no later than 31 January 2013 for the 2013 subscription year. No applications will be accepted after this date. The completed application form will be returned if your application is submitted without adequate proof provided.
The member remains liable for the full annual subscription fee which is due on the 1st January each year until their application is approved.

The *£15,000* threshold or equivalent in your local currency is applicable to all members except those in the following regions; China, Malaysia, Africa, Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Thailand. If you are a member in one of the above mentioned regions please email concessionary@ciob.org.uk for the applicable threshold amount.
