Concessionary Rates

The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) offers a concessionary rate of annual subscription for all current members who have been in membership for longer than one year, who are suffering from financial hardship due to reasons such as unemployment, redundancy, maternity leave and long term sick leave.

Also those members who have taken early retirement may apply for this rate. Members in Associate or Incorporate class of membership currently in full time education and working to enhance their member class can apply for the concessionary rate.

In order that your application can be considered please complete the enclosed form and return it back with the following information:

  • Proof of Job seekers allowance/redundancy/maternity allowance/disability allowance.
  • A letter from your College/University tutor showing you are still studying full-time with course title and duration of course.
  • Have retired from employment and your total earned income from Construction work does not exceed £15,000 pa excluding pensions.
  • If you are applying for this on the ground of financial hardship you will need to complete the monthly income & expenditure statement on page 3 of this form.
  • If you are self employed you are required to send in a letter from your accountant confirming your earned income is below £15,000.

The completed application form should reach the Institute no later than 31 January 2012 for the 2012 subscription. No applications will be accepted after this date. The completed application form will be returned if your application is submitted without adequate proof provided.

The member remains liable for the full annual subscription fee which is due on the 1st January each year.
