Regarding the understanding that the Department for Education is considering dropping the requirement for schools to be built or refurbished using the BREEAM environmental assessment method, CIOB believes that designing, building and operating to BREEAM standards yields hugely beneficial energy savings, reducing both costs and carbon emissions.
