CIOB have responded to the Defra consultation on the Measuring and Reporting of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Reporting by UK Companies. The general response is that enhanced voluntary reporting should be explored, alongside mandatory reporting for the worst emitting companies that links to the CRC-scheme. In addition, the reporting should align itself with other Government policy and focus on carbon dioxide rather than all 6 Kyoto-identified GHGs.
