Accreditation Process
Teaching Institutions at both a national and international level seek CIOB accreditation to gain recognition of centre delivery and add value to an award. The achievement of CIOB Accredited Centre Status demonstrates completion of a rigorous and intensive process of assessment to ensure both the centre ethos and course structure aligns with CIOB requirements. For students embarking on a CIOB accredited course, they can be assured that the Teaching Institution is delivering to standards required from industry and will advance them towards their professional career.
All CIOB membership grades are linked to relevant industry qualifications. The accreditation process for Teaching Institutions is conducted and monitored through a CIOB Accreditation Panel which comprises appointed representatives operating within industry and academia.
Recognition of CIOB work in construction education has achieved worldwide acclaim. The CIOB has a reciprocity agreement with the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE) and the National Board for Construction Management Accreditation China, CIOB recognition also extends to countries in Europe and across the world through partnerships and agreements.
