Education Framework
The achievement of professionalism at all levels within the construction industry is at the core of CIOB work. In establishing the criteria for membership of the CIOB, the Institute has developed a framework of educational requirements designed to reflect industry needs and provision.
Educational Requirements
The CIOB Education Framework is a comprehensive document which establishes the core standards required of construction education. It is continually being reviewed to ensure relevance and application to the increasingly changing and diverse needs of an ever developing industry. The CIOB Education Framework will continue to respond to policy formation activity of the Construction Industry Council and map its criteria against the national frameworks of both the QCA and QAA.
The Framework is intended to provide the baseline of learning outcomes required during educational programme delivery and to ensure a consistent approach to the application of its four main components:
- Construction Technology
- Construction Environment
- Specialism
- Skills
The Framework has recently been updated and extended to include Masters programmes.
PLEASE NOTE: The education framework is currently being updated and the postgraduate section of the framework should not be used for reference. If you have any enquiries regarding this please email educationadmin@ciob.org.uk
