· Layout of drainage systems
· Road gully location and spacing
· Elements of hydraulic design: Run-off, pipe capacity-gradient and flow
3. Controlling Pollution
· Environment Agency requirements & advice
4. Substantial Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS)
· Definition, purpose & a few examples
5. Subsoil Drainage
· Function of Subsoil drainage
· Permeability of soils
· Subsoil drainage structures
· Geotextiles in subsoil drainage
6. Design of Subsoil drainage
· An Overview
7. Conclusion & Evaluation of Course
Intended for:
Graduates and technicians newly involved in road design and construction; and highway maintenance staff involved with supervision
Course Duration:
1 day (6 hrs) IPD/CPD
