Tyntesfield, a glorious Gothic Revival extravaganza, is a magical place, bristling with towers and turrets, created by four generations of the Gibbs family. Each generation left its mark on Tyntesfield, and the house gives a unique insight into the changing world of an English country estate. Following the death of the second Lord Wraxall, and a dramatic fundraising campaign, Tyntesfield was saved by the nation, for the nation. This exciting estate gives visitors the chance to experience work in progress and see the conservation building project in action. Surrounding the house, the formal terraced gardens lead down through rolling parkland to the wonderful walled kitchen garden (still in production).
