6.30pm: Laurie McLeman FCIOB will deliver our EPA workshop.
The Experienced Practitioner Assessed Programme (EPA) is an examined
route for those who would have typically been in middle management
for around five years with responsibility for the whole or part of a
process in construction.
The Experienced Practitioner Assessed Report route (EPAR) is aimed
at those experienced practitioners who would have typically ten years
of substantive experience in a senior management role with
responsibilities for people, finance and projects. The candidate will
write a technical report and undertake an oral examination based on
their technical knowledge.
Our workshop will cover both routes, giving an in-depth view of
the EPA and what candidates will undertake during their studies,
plus guidance for the EPAR and what the report should contain
and information on the oral examination.
The workshop will also cover the Professional Review - the final
step to Chartered membership.
We will have a short break for tea, coffee and sandwiches at 7.45pm.
8.00pm: Greig Higham, Senior Environmental Manager, Laing O'Rourke will give a presentation on Environmental Good Practice.Subjects to be discussed:
Background - how the environment has become part of theagenda; Principles of Environmental Management - legislative /CSR;
Design Phase - waste, materials, site lay out, sufficientresources; Construction Phase - management of control and designelements;
Forthcoming - Water Footprint, Carbon Management,Sustainability, CSR.
