The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) talks or lectures aim to give attendees an overview of an interesting subject.
The talks provide an opportunity to learn about a new area or receive an update on a particular topic. They usually focus on one subject and previous talks have been as diverse as assessing problems in ancient buildings, aviation pioneers, sustainability and noise control.
The talks are arranged by regional centres and are led by CIOB members or external speakers who are experts in the specified area. They are usually held in the evenings.
CIOB talks and lectures are open to members and non-members who want to learn about a new topic or be brought up to date with new developments. Previous delegates have ranged from senior management to graduate trainees .
