Why should I attend?

The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) workshops aim to bring attendees up-to-date with the latest developments in a specific area relevant to the construction industry. They are designed to inform, challenge and promote knowledge sharing.

What will I achieve?

The workshops provide an opportunity to reinforce participants’ current knowledge and skills, and usually focus on one topic. Typical subject areas include building regulations, health and safety, sustainability, waste management and other industry issues.

What can I expect?

Active participation is encouraged through a stimulating mix of panel discussions, breakout sessions, group exercises and presentations. Training is often supported by comprehensive notes to aid dissemination.
The workshops take an informal approach and delegate numbers are kept low to promote discussion and participation. They also provide an excellent networking opportunity.

Workshops are led by CIOB members or external speakers from leading companies and organisations. They usually run for up to one day.

Who should attend?

CIOB workshops are open to members and non-members who want to be informed and up to date with industry developments. Previous delegates have ranged from senior management to graduate trainees.
