Meet the Chair, Tony Perks, MCIOB
Currently the Head of Building Control at Stratford-on Avon District Council Tony has been a board member for four years where he has made a considerable contribution to raising the profile of both the work of the board and promoting building standards across the whole of the construction industry.
Tony is particularly interested in continuing to find practical ways of improving building standards and ensuring CIOB members are briefed on such matters. |

Joining the faculty
CIOB membership is not solely for those within a construction company. Members of the CIOB are professional involved in the management of the total construction process. Building Control is a function that is recognised by the CIOB What grade of membership can I gain?Student - Trainee building control surveyor
Associate (ACIOB) - HNC or equivalent together with 2yrs experience within Building Control at higher level. This could be as an Assistant Building Control Surveyor or higher
Incorporate (ICIOB) – HND or equivalent within Building Control and who are preparing for their professional review.
Member (MCIOB) – Three years professional experience, and passes the CIOB Professional Review. You can read guidelines about the Professional Review written especially for the Faculty of Building Controls and Standards |

CIOB Consultation Responses
Faculty of Building Control and Standards members contribute their specialist, in-depth knowledge to consultations and proposals relating to Building Control and Standards and provide valuable insight that informs CIOB Policy. A key role for the CIOB is to work with governments, industry, education, stakeholders and the media to promote our standards and views.
