Routes to Membership (MCIOB)

This route is for professionals working in the construction industry with non-cognate qualifications.

For applicants wishing to follow this route there are two entry options:

1) those who hold at least a UK honours degree or equivalent, that is not in a construction-related discipline

or

2) those who hold a current Chartered level membership of another professional institute

All candidates for this route must have at least 5 years' professional level experience in the construction industry. You would be expected to demonstrate experience in a management role which includes decision making responsibilities for People, Finances, Technology and Health, Safety and Environment.

This route to Charterered status (MCIOB) is in 2 parts:

• Professional Review / Interview on professional competence leading to MCIOB.

1) Photocopied evidence of all relevant academic awards being assessed i.e. degrees
2) Evidence of current memberships of other Chartered Professional Institutes
3) A detailed electronic CV of not more than four pages
4) Assessment Fee *

*The UK assessment fee is £75.00. All overseas applicants should contact their local office for the appropriate fee.
