Monday 6^th February saw the North-Western Centre’s AGM 2012 and CPD event held in the Writer’s Room, City Hotel, Derry.

Just prior to the North-Western Centre’s AGM, the North-Western Centre Committee hosted a CPD seminar on NEC3 Compensation Events, delivered by Martin Doherty BEng CEng MICE MIEI a Contracts & Arbitration Manager of Quigg Golden Limited Belfast.

The seminar was a brief overview of the NEC 3 suite of contracts with particular emphasis on Compensation Events. Martin was thoroughly knowledgeable of the seminar content of course and all attendees found the seminar very informative and thought provoking and meant that the Q & A session was very lively.

It was announced after the AGM meeting, that due to Branch discussions, the North-Western Centre will now hold three committee meetings in the forthcoming year along with the AGM. The dates for the next committee meetings for the calendar will be held from 7.30pm in the Writer’s Room, City Hotel below.

Some changes were also announced after the AGM meeting and line up for the North-Western Centre Committee. In summary:

• Fergal English remains in post of Chair for another year.
• Jarlath Turley, current Honorary Treasurer will remain in post until May
• Sean O’Brien was voted as Honorary Secretary
• John Cartin as Assistant Honorary Secretary
• Centre representitives are Fergal English and Sean O’Brien
