Breakfast Meetings in the East Midlands Sept/Oct 2007
Tuesday, April 15, 2008
We are very grateful to Guest speaker Peter Morley of Morcot Foundations for his excellent presentation on foundation failures and solutions.
Importantly we had interest from new prospective Members from local firms, showing once again the importance of grass roots local contact to Members, the 8.00 am start with 9.30am finish seemed to be much appreciated by members and guests, the incentive of eggs and bacon sealed the success of the early morning start!
The Lincoln Breakfast meeting was held in the Historic City in the Branches Northern territory at The Duke William Hotel, Bailgate on Monday 8th October, again an early start brought out 24 local Members and Guests.
Our Guest Speaker was Giles Learman of Consultant, Rodgers Leask Environmental Ltd; Members were keen to hear of his experience in dealing with contamination issues on many sites in the Midlands, an issue affecting us all in the quest for better utilisation of Brown Field sites, releasing inner City land for housing.
We expect to repeat the imitative of early morning meetings next year, which was well received, and also focussed Committee members on the geographical area of our Branch from North to South!
