Post Mortem on a Victorian House

Thursday, April 17, 2008

This years Cardiff Centre AGM was followed by an excellent presentation on Victorian Housing, which is still plentiful and much sought after in the city.

Maurice Chinnick’s talk described the variety of housing stock built during this period, the construction techniques employed and some of the pitfalls to be aware of when considering purchase and renovation in the 21st century.

Many of the slides shown during the presentation revealed building techniques that were employed for speed of build and economy and have over the years attributed to much failure.

A lively question and answer period attested to how well the presentation had been received.
