Legal Issues Conference

The CIOB East Midlands held a Legal Issues/Dispute Resolution Conference at the Quality Inn in Loughborough. This was a morning seminar with three speakers.
Mike Talbot, Founder and Director of UK Mediation Ltd started the seminar. He is an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), accredited mediator for civil and and commercial disputes. Mike covered professional negligence, contractual disputes and building/property disputes.
This was followed by Peter Collie, Barrister, Mediator and Chartered Arbitrator who is also a member of the CIOB's legal and dispute resolution committee. He explained the various method and where and how issues could be resolved.
Finally Alan Wilson, Civil Engineer spoke about his industry experience. He has worked in employer, consultant and contractor organisations up to director level. We had a relatively good attendance to the seminar, which ran from 9 am to 1pm.
