Qualified through HNC/D, S/NVQ or CIOB Site Management Programme

The CIOB has options for people with a range of qualifications that don't yet meet the full academic requirements for full Corporate membership, but will allow applicants to be admitted to our first grades of membership, Associate and Incorporate (ACIOB/ICIOB).

YOU HAVE:

(for Associate membership - ACIOB)

  • A CIOB recognised HNC, S/NVQ3, CIOB Site Management Certificate*
  • Two years appropriate construction experience

OR:

If you hold a qualification that is not accredited or recognised by the CIOB, you can still apply for an individual assessment to determine the best route into membership for you.

*Please note - this only applies to those who are enrolled on a CIOB Site Management course from September 2010.

CASE STUDY: DAN BIDDLE ACIOB

31-year-old Dan Biddle suffered serious injuries in the 2005 London bombings, but used his recovery period to continue his studies on a Site Management, Education and Training (SMET) course.

Dan eventually returned to college to complete his HNC Diploma and now works for Direct Enquiries, an organisation dedicated to finding accessible environments for those with disabilities. As technical manager Dan heads up the consultancy side of the organisation, project-managing access work from inception to completion.

"Gaining an internationally recognised CIOB qualification gives credence to what you do. For me, my disability hasn't stopped me achieving my career goals, while the CIOB has been a huge support all the way. The hard work put in to achieve membership has been worth every minute and I'm proud to be a CIOB member."
