Bill Beattie: Aberdeen Centre Chair 2010/11

Bill began his career as a labourer on a building site before progressing to being a Bonus Surveyor then becoming a Quantity Surveyor. He progressed his career growing with a regional company to a national company. During this period, 22 years, he held a number of senior positions including Construction Director and Managing Director and successfully led the business into PFI projects.

In 2001 he was headhunted to take up the role of Chief Executive of a Bancon Developments, which is a group of companies dealing in General Construction, Timberframe, Residential and Commercial Developments.

The company employs in the region of 400 people and for 2008 the turnover was £ 80 million. Bill is also a Chartered Surveyor. Before becoming a Fellow, Bill became a full member by completing the DMX and then went on to become a part time lecturer to deliver some of the DMX course at Robert Gordon’s University.
