CIOB West Midlands

It is with great honour that I take on the role of Branch Chairman of the CIOB for the West Midlands.

Since becoming a Member and enjoying a special visit to Englemere to celebrate that occasion there has always been an aspiration to become Branch Chair.

There is always a sense of great achievement, not only personally, but for my family and fellow members who have supported me in achieving my aspirations. Having started my journey through SMETS training and Core Studies it took five years of hard work to achieve Membership. Having been selected to be Branch Chair I am dedicated and committed to lifting the construction profile in the West Midlands.

 There is a lot to do.  A Branch and Centre strategy has been developed in order to give ourselves the direction to ensure that we remain committed and dedicated to the members we represent.

Our overall strategy will revolve around:

  • Reviewing communications to members.
  • Develop a sustainable future for Centre committees
  • Ensure that a robust succession plan exists for the future.
  • Create worthwhile CPD events in line with member communications.
  • Continue to develop links with education through the ETP (Education Trust Partnership).

This strategy will form the pillars of sustainability for the West Midlands.

If you let me know how we can improve the service provision for the following year this would help support our strategy and ensure that you, as a valued CIOB member, can communicate and engage with us on a personal basis.

I hope that I, and all the Centres across the West Midlands, can rely on your support over the next 12 months to ensure a positive continued growth of the CIOB in the West Midlands.
