Geoff Minshull is elected new Chairman of west midlands branch

Geoff Minshull began his career as a site engineer after a initial period working for a design consultant . He worked through the various roles to construction director and then subsequently to regional manager for a national contractor.
From early 2007 until early 2010, Geoff was Head of Construction for the £600 million Birmingham New Street Gateway project, during the preconstruction phase and he now manages his own consultancy specialising in procurement and construction management.

I am honoured to have been elected as the west Midland’s Branch Chair for 2010-11 and I am very much looking forward to building on the achievements of the Branch over the next year.  
The retiring Branch Team have achieved a great deal, setting extremely high standards and I am determined that during the next twelve months we will build on the successful strategy they developed, ensuring that the construction profile within the West Midlands continues to be elevated and its reputation enhanced.

Building on the work by the previous committee, we will:-
•    Continuously review and monitor communications to members to ensure it is effective.
•    Continue to develop a sustainable future for Centre committees
•    Ensure that a robust succession plan exists for the future.
•    Promote relevant CPD events at both Centre and Branch and also in conjunction with other institutes.
•    Continue to develop our links within education
•    Actively encourage and support the work and development of the younger members through NOVUS

The Branch and our centre’s are only as successful as our members make them and I would like to thank all our team Members for their hard work and dedication. I would like to call on any members who would like become more involved with the CIOB at either Branch or centre level to contact our Branch Manager (details below).
