Congratulations - Our New TrusteesOn the 16th April 2010 two new trustees were elected on to the main board of the CIOB, Martin Chambers FCIOB and Paul Dockerill FCIOB. Both are active members of the West Midlands Branch and we are delighted that they have both been given the honour of Trusteeship. |
West Midlands Student Challenge - January 201022 July 2010 For the second year running the West Midlands were able to send a team to the Student Challenge national finals following our successful branch heats. Four team's competed in the Branch Student Challenge in January. Despite the snow and ice, the students came together at the University of Wolverhampton to present to a panel of experts consisting of Paul Dockerill FCIOB & Branch Chair, George Marsh FCIOB and lecturer Ant Hatfield ICIOB. The teams had been given the challenge of designing a new student block including gym and Olympic swimming pool adjacent to two existing inner city student blocks |

The West Midlands Celebrates the CIOB's 175th Anniversary22 July 2010 Last year the West Midlands celebrated the CIOb's 175 Anniversary in style at the Windmill Hotel and Golf Course in Coventry. It was wonderful to see so many members joining us for such a fantastic occasion. |

Mentoring ServiceThe CIOB West Midlands is proud to announce the launch of a new mentoring service. Volunteer members who have experience in the professional review process, in particular the interview stage, have agreed to help those going through the process of upgrading their membership. |
Celebrating Construction 2010 featuring the Built in Quality and Constructing Excellence Awards22 July 2010 Did you know that your West Midland’s Branch, in partnership with Birmingham City Council Building Control and West Midlands Centre for Constructing Excellence, host one of the largest construction industry’s awards dinner every year. This year, despite the gloomy economic climate, nearly 800 representatives from the West Midlands Construction Industry gathered at the Birmingham ICC to celebrate all the successes of 2009. |

Timber Framed 116 Unit Residential Care Home19 May 2010 The 22nd April saw a visit by CIOB West Midlands to a timber framed 116 unit residential care home under construction by Shaylor Construction. |
