CIOB North East

Jane joined CIOB in July 2006, having previously worked within hospitality, account management, advertising and leisure industry in administrative and managerial roles. Jane enjoys the diversity that the role of Branch Manager brings and the range of opportunities it presents to directly support members in north east region, as well as strategic support to the North East Branch and Centre Committees.

Centre Administrator - Diane Thorpe

Diane Thorpe has recently joined the CIOB as Centre Administrator for the North East of England.

Diane has spent many years working as a Secretary in the Plant Hire and Engineering Sectors and most recently worked as a PA for a worldwide plant manufacturer, she has a good knowledge of the construction industry and is looking forward to a new challenge with the CIOB.

Tim has been involved with the CIOB since becoming a student member in 1991 and have subsequently held the grades ACIOB, and ICIOB before becoming a corporate member. He hopes to continue his progression to Fellow status in the near future.

Ken is a Project Manager for John Laing Plc.

Following completion of his HND in 1984, Ken went on to a 22 year career within the NHS, at one of country’s largest acute Trusts as Senior Building Officer.

In 2008, Ken became a full member of the CIOB, as well as completing his NEBOSH General Certificate in H&S. June 2009, saw Ken's involvement within the CIOB at committee level develop. Ken now holds Vice Chair at Tyneside Centre and Junior Vice Chair at North East Branch.

Lesley is a Senior Project Controller for North East based people and property business Gentoo and is responsible for the delivery of a variety of new build developments.

She has worked in the construction industry since the age of 16, starting her career as an Architectural Technician studying HNC Building Studies part time. Lesley then moved on to Project Management and completing a first class honours degree in building project management.

Previously held at Complete Football Gosforth had initially took the form of ten teams in two leagues and was within 24 hours of being advertised was oversubscribed by 50%, therefore we increased the teams to 15.  With teams from contractors, architects, surveyors and just about every level throughout the industry.
