NORTH EAST VISIT TO SHANGHAI ...8 July 2010 Incorporating: AGM, Members Forum, Global Construction Summit and CPD events. As the CIOB expands further internationally with over 18% of our membership now coming from outside the UK & Ireland, the decision was taken to hold the AGM outside of the UK for the first time and to combine it with The Global Construction Summit in China. The North East Branch was represented by Richard Humphrey (Past Chair & Trustee), Tim Barrett (Vice Chair) and Myself (Chair). |

5-A-SIDE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT
On Friday 14th May the annual Tyneside centre five a side tournament took place. After last year’s success the tournament places were quickly filled and 12 teams undertook the challenge to become Tyneside’s best construction related five a side team. |

North East AGM 2010Following North East Branch AGM held on Thursday 8th June 2010, Ted Green MCIOB is serving another term as Branch Chair. Tim Barrett will also serve a further term as Senior Vice Chair and Iain Ferriman was voted Junior Vice Chair. |

A1 UPDATE17 May 2010 Members and guests of the Teesside branch of the CIOB attended a very interesting presentation by the Highways Agency and their D2B JV contractor Carillion – Morgan Est at the main site offices of the Dishforth to Leeming A1 Upgrade scheme. |

PARTY WALL AGREEMENTS ! A CONDITION OF PLANNING OR NOT ?27 April 2010 Neil Cunningham, Regional Director of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors, recently presented an overview of the Party Wall Act 1996 to a welcoming Teesside Branch at The Parkmore Hotel. Neil's subject knowledge and anecdotes provided a practical understanding of the Act and its application, and was well received by those attending. |
