Aims of the South East Branch
The main aims of the South East Branch are to effectively serve the public and CIOB members and to raise the profile of the Institute in the South East region.
The branch supports seven extremely active centres, and a Novus group, all of whom have a programme of topical and varied CPD events. Coupled with these main events each centre has at least one occasion for general networking usually in the form of a dinner of luncheon.
Please visit the relevant centre page to find further details of events taking place in your area. Remember that your non-CIOB colleagues are also warmly invited to attend events.
The Branch works closely with other organisations such as SECBE, CIC, SE RIBA and ICE to help raise the profile of the construction industry.
Speaker Opportunities
The centres are currently considering their programme of events for 2010/11. It is the aim of the South East Branch to continue to provide CIOB members and the general with public successful, topical and relevant events.
We would like to hear from you if you have any suggestions for topics or speakers for future events. Additionally, if you are interested in co-hosting an event, please contact sgould@ciob.org.uk

Student Challenge
Are you a winner?
Do you have a team to win the SE Student Challenge? Mid Kent College have won for the last two years and will be wanting to win for a third consecutive year.
We are inviting you to put forward a team of 4 students to enter into next year’s South East Student Challenge competition on Wednesday 23rd February 2011 at the Novotel, Southampton.
What is it for?
The CIOB recognises the importance of education, training and development within construction, as well as encouraging young people into the industry. The Student Challenge Competition is designed to allow teams of students from colleges and universities across the country to showcase their construction skills and knowledge to the wider construction industry.
The South East Student Challenge Competition is the stepping stone for teams from the South East to compete at the National Student Challenge finals at CIOB headquarters, Ascot.
It is an opportunity for a team of 4 from a college or University to display their construction knowledge in front of potential employers, CIOB members and other dignitaries.
It provides students with a unique chance to represent their college or university in a challenging and fun way against other academic institutions in the region.
If you are interested in attending, please contact
