Coventry Centre

As my second year of my term of office commences I am pleased to say that we can celebrate success on a number of fronts.

Firstly we have some new faces joining Ken Rawe and Tony Wehby on our centre team.  Stewart Malcolm, newly returned to the UK after many years working around the world, is providing considerable new input to our work and Dean Harrow, I am delighted to say has become our Vice-Chairman.  Dean, a previous Chair of the Centre, lends a lot of experience both as the Commercial Director at Benfield Construction and the current President of the Coventry and Warwickshire Association NFB.

Last year obviously provided testing times for the industry and our members.  However we have found that our wide range of topical events has been supported with increasing numbers. The new calendar of events continues where we left off and we have been successful in obtaining the support of many organisations to provide both varied and interesting topics. We are also working closely with FORCE, RIBA, RICS and other Black Country Constructing Excellence to provide greater potential for business and social networking.

We also have some new initiatives which we hope will provide more support for our centre and provide even wider networking opportunity.  I shall look forward to hopefully meeting more of our members over this second year of my term in office.

I was last Chair of the Coventry and Warwickshire Centre in 1988 – 1989 and previously in office as Vice-Chair and Honorary Secretary. The Industry has evolved in many different ways since that time and will continue to do so with the inevitable changes that will happen in the forth coming years. It is good to be involved and I welcome any level of support.
