North Western Centre

Overview

Welcome to the webpage of the North Western Centre, Chartered Institute of Building in Ireland.

The main aims of the Centre are to serve its members effectively and actively promote the Institute in the North Western Region of Ireland. The Centre is unique within the CIOB in Ireland due to its geographical area, which spans both the North of Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, in Counties Derry, Tyrone, Fermanagh, Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo.

The Centre Committee meets six times annually at the ‘Derry City Hotel’ in Derry. All members are welcome to attend. Please refer to the events page for dates and times.

Each year the Centre awards a “CIOB Bronze Medal” to students who have excelled in their studies in a construction-related course at each of the four local colleges of further education. The medals are presented to the students at the Centre’s Annual Dinner and Students Awards Ceremony held in May each year. An overall winner also receives the ‘Joe White Memorial Award’.

The Centre’s Committee provides a full calendar of events on behalf of the membership. Please refer to the events page for updates. We are continuously seeking fresh ideas for site visits, seminars, sporting, social and CPD events. Your continued support, participation and personal assistance for these events is very much appreciated. Sponsorship for all events shall always be warmly received. Please do not hesitate to contact us for further information. New members are always most welcome.

The North Western Centre Chairman is Sean O'Brien. Sean can be contact via email on sean.obrien@talktalk.net or telephone 0044 ( 0 ) 28 713 46826.
