| Following the 2010 Tyneside AGM, Dave Brown MCIOB was elected to serve another term as Tyneside Centre Chair. | |
|
Since graduating from Northumbria University in 1997, Dave has been employed by Frank Haslam Milan & Co. Ltd, a contractor specialising in the new-build and refurbishment of social housing. Dave's current role is Contracts Manager, having progressed through the company at various levels of site management. Dave returned to Northumbria University in 2003 to study MSc Project Management part-time for three years. |

Having moved to the North East from Yorkshire is 1992 I gained a degree in Building Surveying in 1996 and have worked as a Building Surveyor and then for 9 years as a Contracts Director of a local construction company. In 2007 I started Datim Building Contractors Ltd a company based in Gosforth specialising in various refurbishment works and building contracts for Health Authorities and Universities within the North East. The company has expanded over the last 3 years and we now employ 16 people and have a £2 million turnover. |

In addition to my Managing Director duties I am Vice Chair of the Tyneside Centre of the Chartered Institute of Building (former Chair 2003 to 2005), active within the CIOB Education Working Group and a member of the Federation of Master Builders. In my spare time I am a School Governor at Stannington First School.

Diane Thorpe: Centre Administrator |

Diane Thorpe has recently joined the CIOB as Centre Administrator for the North East of England. Diane has spent many years working as a Secretary in the Plant Hire and Engineering Sectors and most recently worked as a PA for a worldwide plant manufacturer, she has a good knowledge of the construction industry and is looking forward to a new challenge with the CIOB. |

| Natacha Redon: Student Representative | |

Natacha came from France in September and immediately became a Student member of the CIOB in 2009 whilst undertaking her second year of Building Project Management at Northumbria University. She is currently looking for a one-year placement beginning this summer and aims to progress her membership once her studying is complete thanks to the knowledge acquired inside and outside the university.
