John began his career as a graduate Civil Engineer working for a large Regional/ National Contractor, quickly moving into the construction side of the business. During the subsequent 22 years he has worked for various Regional and National companies( including working within a client based project management company), progressing from Site Engineer to Contracts Manager and has recently taken up the challenge in setting up with the recently formed Construction company – Xircon.

A note from John:

I would like to thank all for the opportunity to chair The West of Scotland branch and confirm our objective in the coming year to continue the excellent work of previous years committees through the varied and topical CPD events already organised for this year.  All events can be seen in the Events Diaries and W.O.S website.  It is worth reminding all that these events are free of charge.

Involvement by the committee is completely voluntary and is about putting something back into the industry, to this end we  would encourage both members and non members to attend these events as they offer an excellent opportunity to reinforce/ expand knowledge of what is happening within/ to the industry as well as an opportunity to meet old acquaintances/ network with new.

The committee welcomes any comments/ feedback along with suggestions for future events aswell as anyone wanting to become more active within the committee and would ask that anyone planning to attend events try to contact myself to let me know – by telephone or by e-mail.
